From Cairo, you’ll venture onward via sleeper train, traversing a sea of sand overnight as you head south.

You’ll spend several days exploring ancient ruins and temples in Luxor, Aswan, and Abu Simbel before you return to Cairo to visit important Islamic and Christian historical sites

    Day : 1 Welcome to Cairo, Egypt .

    Arrival at Cairo International Airport, where your DST Representative will assist you with all customs and visa formalities. Transfer: by air-conditioned vehicle to hotel.     Day 2: Pyramids Tour / Train to Luxor

    Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel in Cairo before checking out . Pyramids & Sphinx: Proceed to visit to the 4,500 year old Pyramids built for pharaohs Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus on the Giza Plateau,the Great Pyramid being the only survivor of the " seven wonders of the Ancient World ". Just to the east of the second pyramid lies the legendary Sphinx , whose human face is thought to represent that of Chephren acting as the guardian of the Pharaoh's enormous funerary monument. Egyptian Museum: In the morning visit the Egyptian Museum of antiquities, exhibiting over 120,000 objects in its 107 halls. It comprises the world ' s greatest collection of Ancient Egyptian artifacts . Marvel at the many rooms filled with golden treasures extracted from the world-famous tomb of King Tutankhamen. Continue to Islamic Cairo, where you will explore Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s oldest and most alluring bazaar. Later, you will be transferred to the gorgeous Giza railway station to catch the sleeper train from Cairo to Luxor. Dinner will be served on board. Overnight : accommodation inside your compartment.     Day 3: Luxor Sightseeing

    Breakfast : Breakfast on Train . Upon your arrival at the Luxor train station, you will be met and assisted by a Dar Al Salam representative . Luxor Temple : This afternoon your Egyptologist will guide you on a tour of the East Bank of Luxor , starting with the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor , dedicated to the god Amun . Lunch : At a local restaurant . Karnak Temple :Proceed to the Temple of Karnak , built over more than a thousand years by generations of Pharaohs . The great "Hypostyle Hall " is an incredible forest of giant pillars , covering an area larger than the whole of Notre Dame Cathedral . Back to your hotel, where you’ll stay overnight in Luxor.     Day 4: Luxor / Aswan Sightseeing

    After breakfast, board your air-conditioned, wifi-enabled vehicle and head to Aswan. The drive will take about a 3 and a half hours. Upon arrival, you will be met by a Dar Al Salam rep. and taken to your hotel for check-in. High Dam: The dam's construction began in 1960 and was completed in 1968. It was, however, officially inaugurated in 1971. The total investment for constructing the dam reached $1bn.With a reservoir capacity of 132 cubic kilometers . Philae Temple:It is devoted to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor, Philae was originally located near the expansive First Cataract of the Nile in Upper Egypt and was the site of an Egyptian temple complex. These rapids and the surrounding area have been variously flooded since the initial construction of the Aswan Low Dam in 1902. Lunch : At a local restaurant . Unfinished Obelisk: Next we proceed to the Granite Quarries , which supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the hard stone used in pyramids and temples , and still hold a huge unfinished obelisk . It is the largest known ancient obelisk, located in the northern region of the stone quarries of ancient Egypt . Later, you’ll head back to the hotel Overnight : At your hotel in Aswan .     Day 5: Abu Simbel Temple Group Tour / Train to Cairo

    You’ll start your day early with a breakfast box at 4:30 am, and then begin your Group tour to Abu Simbel Temples, about 3.5 hours away by car. Upon your arrival, you’ll encounter the remarkable temples built for Ramses II and his beloved queen Nefertari. These temples near the Sudanese border are iconic for their beauty, but remarkable for their modern history as well -- they were completely relocated in 1968 to avoid submersion by the massive Lake Nasser. After your time spent exploring the temples, you’ll return to Aswan . Transfer : Transfer to Aswan Railway Station . Sleeper Train : Board your sleeper train back to Cairo . Dinner & Overnight : On board train . Meals: Breakfast box, Dinner
